Sociology Professor confronts Dartmouth's ties to slavery

Dartmouth's ties to slavery - and recent attempts to bring those ties to the fore - are examined in a recent Valley News article, Research helps Dartmouth confront the ties to slavery in its past. Associate Professor of Sociology Deborah King has been instrumental in exploring the history of slavery at Dartmouth. Her course Lest We Forget: History, Collective Memory and Slavery at Dartmouth encourages undergraduate students to explore that history as well.
